Personal Project Management Plan

QUICK – from your online classes - WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER?

YIKES – It’s tricky to keep the information together.

OOPS – The lessons are getting away from me.

GEEZ – Homework is hard to understand.

 AAK – Focus is impossible

Well then, you need a plan, a path, a guide.

Don’t you hate it when someone tells you HOW you should plan your own life,

. . . or day? They don’t get how things do or don’t work for you. But then, neither do you – because, in the new normal, everything is different. It has become more than confusing to find your path. In all this uncertainty, a view into the future looks murky, and your online studies are vague.

So, we have four things going on:

  •  You gotta get it done
  • Other people are telling you what to do
  • The situation is unclear
  • You need your own plan – somehow.

 ARGH – Whaaa?!

In the Himalayan mountains is a famous peak – Mount Everest. Nod your head if you’ve heard of it. If not, there’s a link at the end, so you can learn more.

The climb up Mount Everest isn’t just steep; it’s long, it’s dangerous, it’s snowy, and it’s deadly. Deadly like 300 people dead, deadly. Many of the bodies are left on the mountain because it’s impossible to carry them back down. Things go very wrong.

In one very famous trip, 8 people died because they either switched to someone else’s plan, or ignored their own. ONE guy stuck to the plan and got people down the mountain. Neil Beidleman is a personal friend from childhood, and he is the hero in this story.

The book and movie is called, "Into Thin Air" John Krakour. Neil's part of the story is not a big deal in the movie, because it doesn't play out with great video drama. It is, however, the success story.

So, Hire a Sherpa

A Sherpa is a specific guide in Tibet, where Mount Everest is located. They are the local people who climb the mountain, with few problems, over and over. They know the mountain so well that they are hired to lead visiting climbers on the excursion, up the mountain and, back down.

The books written about conquering Mount Everest aren’t about the Sherpa. The stories are told of those people who, against their own obstacles, climbed a mountain that few have conquered. They are the Heroes.

Why isn’t a Sherpa the hero? Quietly, they are the main actor. Specifically, they stay on course. They are part of the success, After helping people get on the right path, and leading them through dangerous obstacles, they go back down. They helped guide the hero to get going, but the Hero finishes the sjla;fdkj;s

Your current Mount Everest is this online education, path-of-uncertainty.

The teachers have never done this before, so they can’t lead you.
Your friends and family have never done this before, so they can’t plan for you.
You’ve never done this before, so you don’t know what to do.

So Hire Me - There are obstacles of focus and unknown use of time and information, and no idea what the goal of the journey will really be.

You are becoming a HERO – I am your Sherpa
